Which communication skills are essential for SROs?

Effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills are vital for School Resource Officers (SROs) as they serve as a bridge between law enforcement and the school community. This role often requires SROs to engage with students, parents, faculty, and community members in a way that fosters trust and cooperation.

Verbal communication allows SROs to convey important information clearly and effectively, whether it's addressing concerns, conducting presentations, or providing guidance.
